A beautiful transformation took place in this Capitol Hill home where we were able to remodel 448 square feet at the interior and build a 398 square foot patio to connect the home to the back garden. The relaxing backyard space creates a new area for entertaining and a nice flow between the main-level public spaces of the home and the outdoors. The updated kitchen features customized flush-frame cabinets along with built-in cabinetry to tie in the classic dining room. We created the extended patio area by re-grading the soil and installing board-formed concrete retaining walls. The new large doors in the dining room seamlessly marry the interior and the exterior while giving the home a more modern feel.  Contractor:  Heartwood Builders.

What people are saying about live-work-play

Sheri led two projects for us—a nearly complete renovation of our house in 2016, and a renovation of our master bathroom in 2018. In each project, she came to the table with unbelievably creative concepts that we loved. Without fail, she delivered ideas and plans on time and under budget. She helped us in all aspects of the construction, from inception to final walk-through. The construction process can be confusing; Sheri was able to explain the inevitable challenges when they arose, and was able to offer valuable advice to overcome them. It was a pleasure to work with her. We cannot imagine a better partner in a renovation or construction project, and recommend her highly. She is amazing; you won’t be sorry.
