This 800 sf DADU was designed to complement the main house and take advantage of cool summer shade offered from a large walnut tree.  The new cottage and main house form a courtyard around the tree, creating a shared outdoor space for the four generations of family living on the property. The DADU was thoughtfully designed to accommodate aging in place, utilizing universal design concepts such as, keeping the floor level close to grade, accessible bathrooms and shower room, wide doors everywhere and open spaces that allow ease of movement. These bright open spaces make the cottage seems bigger than it is.

What people are saying about live-work-play

Sheri led two projects for us—a nearly complete renovation of our house in 2016, and a renovation of our master bathroom in 2018. In each project, she came to the table with unbelievably creative concepts that we loved. Without fail, she delivered ideas and plans on time and under budget. She helped us in all aspects of the construction, from inception to final walk-through. The construction process can be confusing; Sheri was able to explain the inevitable challenges when they arose, and was able to offer valuable advice to overcome them. It was a pleasure to work with her. We cannot imagine a better partner in a renovation or construction project, and recommend her highly. She is amazing; you won’t be sorry.
