Maple Leaf Addition

In another great collaboration with Pathway Construction, live-work-play helped a couple plan for retirement and aging in place with a contemporary addition to this 1940’s home. We added a master suite  featuring a new accessible bath with grab bars and a zero-threshold shower for easy entry and mobility for aging in place.

Some of the energy efficient features include dense pack cellulose insulation for stronger sealing, insulation and reduction in air flow along with a spot energy recovery vent (ERV) to help with indoor air quality enhancing the other air-sealing systems.

Efficient window placement for daylighting was essential, not only to save energy costs, but for enjoyable viewing of the new permaculture gardens the homeowners created in collaboration with HGO.

What people are saying about live-work-play

Jane and I had an excellent experience working with Sheri who helped us conceptualize our wishes into a thoughtful, creative design and worked with contractors to make that design real.  Sheri is a listener.  In our first meeting she asked for us to name the qualities we foremost wanted in a backyard cottage.  All of them were met in the design and the end result.  She solved complex problems, she was direct and confident and friendly with contractors, took good notes and always followed through.  We love the results.
