West Seattle Aging in place

Deep energy retrofit for aging in place

Living large in a small home….this childhood home in West Seattle is renovated from the ground up plus a thoughtful bedroom addition.  All for aging in place in a comfortable, sunny space.  This home had previously been remodeled in the middle of the twentieth century.  We are bringing up to date, by completely reworking the home from the studs out.  In some places, even some foundation needed to be replaced.  This retrofit includes continuous exterior rigid insulation, rainscreen siding, a rubber roof with solar panels and heat pump.  In collaboration with the owners and Hammer & Hand.

Eric and Cammy

Sheri led two projects for us—a nearly complete renovation of our house in 2016, and a renovation of our master bathroom in 2018. In each project, she came to the table with unbelievably creative concepts that we loved. Without fail, she delivered ideas and plans on time and under budget. She helped us in all aspects of the construction, from inception to final walk-through. The construction process can be confusing; Sheri was able to explain the inevitable challenges when they arose, and was able to offer valuable advice to overcome them. It was a pleasure to work with her. We cannot imagine a better partner in a renovation or construction project, and recommend her highly. She is amazing; you won’t be sorry.
